Enum Class StatementOrigin

java.lang.Object
java.lang.Enum<StatementOrigin>
ai.chatur.cortex.StatementOrigin
All Implemented Interfaces:
Serializable, Comparable<StatementOrigin>, Constable

public enum StatementOrigin extends Enum<StatementOrigin>
Where a statement returned by CortexQuery.describe(String) came from.

The three origins are exhaustive and mutually exclusive: a statement is either something a human approved, part of the ontology the graph is built on, or a consequence the reasoner drew from the two.

  • Enum Constant Details

    • ASSERTED

      public static final StatementOrigin ASSERTED
      Approved into the knowledge graph by a human, and therefore carrying provenance.
    • ONTOLOGY

      public static final StatementOrigin ONTOLOGY
      Part of the ontology the graph is built on. The reasoner is bound to the ontology as its schema, so the ontology's own axioms are visible alongside the assertions; they were authored with the application, not derived and not approved, so they carry no provenance.
    • INFERRED

      public static final StatementOrigin INFERRED
      Derived by the reasoner from the approved assertions and the ontology.
  • Method Details

    • values

      public static StatementOrigin[] values()
      Returns an array containing the constants of this enum class, in the order they are declared.
      Returns:
      an array containing the constants of this enum class, in the order they are declared
    • valueOf

      public static StatementOrigin valueOf(String name)
      Returns the enum constant of this class with the specified name. The string must match exactly an identifier used to declare an enum constant in this class. (Extraneous whitespace characters are not permitted.)
      Parameters:
      name - the name of the enum constant to be returned.
      Returns:
      the enum constant with the specified name
      Throws:
      IllegalArgumentException - if this enum class has no constant with the specified name
      NullPointerException - if the argument is null
